Unwind during the laid-back days of summer by visiting the Indianapolis Zoo for Animals and All That Jazz. For six Thursdays in July and August, relax to the cool sounds of various performers, all while enjoying the Zoo’s animals. The animals will be out on exhibit until 7pm, with rides and Splash Park being open until 7pm as well.
This year brings old favorites, along with some new faces. Here's the exciting lineup for 2010:
July 15 - Groove to the beat all night long with Harvey & the Bluetones! From Memphis and Mississippi Blues to the smooth sounds of R&B, this group will surely entertain you. Zoo Member Special: Free Kombo Roller Coaster rides (5-7pm)
July 22 - Sizzlin’ Gregg Bacon is back to light up our stage! With his saxophone, this jazz master will amaze you with his exquisite jazz and pop sounds. Zoo Member Special: Free Train rides (5-7pm)
July 29 - Relax to the harmonious sounds of Goldie & Exquisitely Yours. Goldie captivates the audience with her incredible vocal range. Recently debuting her first CD, Goldie is a must-see performer. Zoo Member Special: Free Carousel rides (5-7pm)
August 5 - Spice the night up with Cool Chilies! Offering a Pop Latin sound, this eleven-piece band with vocals will have you dancing the night away. Zoo Member Special: Free Kombo Roller Coaster rides (5-7pm)
August 12 - Unwind to the blended vocals of Heather and Blair. This couple will charm the audience with thei r own sounds, before coming together to sing as a duo. Zoo Member Special: Free Train rides (5-7pm)
August 19 - The Michael Houston Group will create a cool atmosphere with its five-piece band and vocals. You’ll be dancing to the music all night enjoying the contemporary, smooth jazz. Zoo Member Special: Free Carousel rides (5-7pm)
Don’t miss your chance to swing the night away during these toe tapping evenings from 5:30 – 8:30pm.
So bring your lawn chairs and pick your favorite spot at Café on the Commons to unwind and enjoy. In case of bad weather, the concerts will be moved into the Party Pavilion for the evening.
Animals and All That Jazz is free for Zoo members and included with regular Zoo admission.
